I will start by saying I am not in a high risk area of NSW, where I live has had 1 covid case at the very beginning of the pandemic.
I am not completely against the vaccine because I know vaccines work and my children are fully vaccinated, however, like a lot of people I have an apprehension to the covid vax due to lack of known long term side effects. My plan since the release of the vaccine was to wait until the provisional approval has been lifted, but cases are appearing within 200km and it has me concerned. I have developed ridiculous anxiety over the past week and have never suffered anxiety before.
I am looking for reputable information so I can make a truly informed decision about the vaccine. I don't believe a word of what the media is saying, I'm struggling with all the conflicting information.
Note: I am only considering the Pfizer vaccine ( I understand I won't be eligible for a while as I am a full time student/stay at home parent ) and there are people who are in greater need than me.

I was like this but my friend is a Dr who is very much for the vaccination. It’s been in the works for the past 10 years or so, just like many other vaccinations that are in the works that we know nothing about. The numbers and funding have been able to push this through quicker. It’s time we shut off from the media, who create this anxiety and fear in us. I was all for the vaccination at the start then I did a backflip due to the media creating fear. Now I have listened to the Drs and friends, family who have had it, no problems and I’m all booked in for my shot.
The media are creating this fear. Switch off from the media for starters. All vaccinations, medications and life has risks. Since I have turned off from the media, I have had mine and feel at ease with my decisions.
I don't mean to be rude but coming to an anonymous forum (aka, another facet of the media) and expecting reputable, non conflicting advice is kind of obtuse.
Every post about covid here has at least one inaccurate "fact".
Speak with your doctor, that's how you make an informed decision.
Your dr is the person that you need to be speaking to. They will be able to provide you with all of the information necessary so you can make an informed decision
I waited for the Pfizer too. Have had it now. So have many friends in my area by now. Although the AZ risk is very very low, I felt like you and as a single parent wasn't about to take on any risk when covid wasn't near me anyway.
I wouldn't be asking for opinions, you can google Pfizer.
Everything in life has risks. When you take the contraceptive pill there is a risk of blood clots. When you drive your car there is a risk of a car accident. When you give birth there is a risk of death.
We do those things anyway because the risk is tiny and the rewards are great.
That’s the same with vaccines. The option to not get vaccinated is a large number of lives lost because it’s not possible to stay living under such tight restrictions for the rest of our lives. As we have seen, eventually there is a breach.
We got lucky (we worked hard, had high compliance to rules, and live on an island) to be so unaffected by covid so far. As we can see, it takes one slip, one person that doesn’t understand and we’ve lost control.
I’ll post a link to an actual GP who posts about vaccines and covid on Facebook.
PS every single adult in my family is vaccinated and consider ourselves lucky.

The Pfizer vaccine is injected, teaches your body how to fight the virus then is metabolised within a few days. It is literally like sneaking across enemy lines, going to the army, showing them a picture of the enemy then sneaking back over the line again.
The Pfizer vax might make you feel a bit rubbish for a couple of days while your body adjusts to the new information. Serious side effects can occur, but are rare and likely to be in the first half hour after receiving a vaccine. Which is why they make you wait for a while before leaving.

No need to rush, you have time to think about this.
Have a look at the clinical trial studies.
Today I looked at the clinical trial for pfizer (C4591001) and it's shitty. Lots of missing info which should be included.
Havent looked at AZ yet, but will do at some point. Janessen also were recently were provided provisional approval by TGA.
