Hi Mumma's.
Just wondering if any Mums out there have had x-rays and/or a QV scans while pregnant?
I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and went to the hospital for chest pain and the doctor got me to do a chest x-ray (I did wear one of those belly shilds during the x-ray) and the results come back showing I have a chest infection, so now on antibiotics for that. Then a day later he rang and wanted me to do a QV scan to check for any blood clots etc. (I did let everyone that I dealt with know I am pregnant).
They said that the QV scan was the safest option for pregnancy and that they only gave me half the does of the radiation that a non pregnant woman would get.
I am mentally not coping with the worry I have that my baby is not going to be ok with all that radiation.
Is there any mums that have had this done while pregnant and baby went on to be ok??
My doctor keeps telling me not to stress and that I have to take it day by day, but I am just so worried that I have put my baby in so much danger. I just want my baby to be ok! I am a complete mess.

I haven't been in your exact situation but I did have a heap of xrays (no belly shield) when I was completely unaware I was pregnant (probably would've been 5 to 6 weeks at the time also).
My baby is a healthy 13 year old now!
Yes you will be fine. Don’t stress. They only do the scans if they absolutely have to. Let it go now & get back to focusing on the happy times being pregnant
