Five year old woes….

Five year old woes….

My 5 year old hates school. He has completed kindy so has done play based learning prior. Prep just isn’t for him. He walks out. When asked why he just says ‘I don’t like learning’. In addition to this he has no fears & doesn’t have safety worries for himself. I have a GP appointment to get a referral to a paediatrician. To make matters worse he is a twin. They are constantly compared to each other. One twin is thriving at school. The other just not ready. Not really even sure what I’m asking… anyone been through something similar? Was it just they weren’t developmentally ready? Or was there more… ASD or ADHD?

A lot of kids (in my experience especially boys) hate school and what it means is they find it really really hard, and that can be either because they’re just not ready or there’s a learning problem that needs a diagnosis and support.

He needs a child psychologist they are great. Ask dr for a referral. Remember he is still a baby and may just not be ready yet.
