Hi Sisterhood,
Can anyone recommend any child friendly (1 x 10 year old) holidays? We are based in South Western QLD and looking for a holiday over the Christmas period along the coast! Northern NSW included.
We have never taken a holiday as a family and I feel so overwhelmed with where to go and if it’s a good spot for a family! Not to mention I feel like I’ve left everything to last minute as most of the spots I’ve thought of are booked out!
We are hoping to stay somewhere where we don’t have to take the camper.
Can anyone recommend a good location?
Thank you so much

We live in a similar area.
It is quite late to book, but there's always somewhere. If you find a place, look just a little further along or inland from the trendy area. Often cheaper, less busy & nicer.
Where you go & stay depends on finances, what you want to do (pool, beach, bqqs, or theme parks & shows etc.). What's your level of accomodation comfort (basic cabins or 5 star)?
I like to scour Google maps for little places & then google their attractions & see if it suits.
You might still find something affordable at Caloundra (Google Caloundra holiday centre, be aware of if linen provided or not). I love it because there's a long walk along the esplanade (great for scooters & bikes in less busy sections) & easy access to non chain shops. There's heaps of national parks & walks plus a few theme park places. They will be very busy though! It's a 20 min drive to Moolooaba & the hinterland has Montville, Maleny (go to the bird sanctuary - book first & Mary Caincross Reserve, Maleny Dairies). It's a great first holiday spot.
I also look on booking.com, Airbnb or just googling accomodation. Make sure it has free cancellation. A cheaper, non refundable one isn't worth it.
Before Christmas is often quieter & cheaper. Christmas - late January is usually the busiest & most expensive.
