Hi. I am wondering if others have studied cert 4 in Disability or have studied Aged Care. And if so have they found these career choices to be worthwhile and are there job opportunities.
Do you find that these jobs are flexible. Any information would be great thank you.

Plenty of job opportunities in disability, there is a shortage of workers. However the hours can be all over the place and it can take a bit of time before you build hours and get the right shifts for you. Once you get your regular clients and hours it’s great. Plenty of opportunities to pick up extra relief shifts too.
My sister just finished her aged care and walked straight into part time work, I assume it’s a similar situation.
Where I live, there are so many jobs here within the field it's crazy. The industry is screaming out for staff, but due to their restriction on coved vaccines, no one wants the jobs. Right now, in my small semi rural region, there is about 200 jobs just in aged care alone, that's not even including home care, disability care, or out of home care
Sooo many jobs, I work in disability, one on one support and find it to be very flexible.
Do you find you can work this job during school hours.
Community Aged Care is desperate for support workers/home care workers.
the flexibility is definitely there, I’ve been able to accomodate each of my employees preferred hours and days. I even let people know in the interview that if they need school hours, I can give them that.
there are so many job opportunities and it’s incredibly rewarding. I much prefer community work, rather than residential. the hours are better and the flexibility is great.
