Could anxiety cause intense dizziness?

Those of you who suffer with anxiety, do you ever get dizzy? Like really dizzy? For the past month or so, I have been getting extremely dizzy! So dizzy I have to hold on to things sometimes. It is absolutely debilitating! I’ve been to the doctor and had all blood work done and everything was fine. My ears were fine too. He is at a bit of a loss but referred me for an MRI to be sure. I asked if it could be from my anxiety and he said it could be but not really likely. It happens all day but I noticed it does get worse when I’m in public or stressed. I’m just so so over it!

If you were having an anxiety attack you could blame anxiety for dizziness but if it's persistent like you say then there might be another cause. It could be vertigo?

I get anxiety/panic attack induced vertigo. Speak to a GP.

Yes, anxiety manifests physically in all kinds of ailments and unexplained symptoms. I used to go to the doctor over and over, sure something was wrong with me. When I told a friend, she told me she actually had an investigative procedure she was that sure she actually had a problem. We’re both fine now and really healthy, physical issues resolved themselves, no changes except changed situations. This is why kids with anxiety whinge, one day it’s a headache, next day their legs are super sore, next day they’re going to vomit, or sore throat.

It actually is explained, those symptoms from anxiety are due to poor circulation because when you're having an anxiety attack your body thinks there is a real threat so it goes into survival mode and sends more blood to your organs to keep you alive and prepare for the impending attack. Which is no longer bears and lions for which anxiety exists but crowds or Drs appointments. That's why people can get sick, pins and needles, short of breath, chest pain, dizziness which of course are all signs of a heart attack too that's why so many people suffering from anxiety are treated as heart patients if they don't know what's going on.

It can present as dizziness. You did not mention if you were seeing a Psychologist? Might be worth seeing if they can help you to work on coping strategies as I wonder if you are doing a whole lot of mouth breathing? I am assuming if you saw ENT specialist they checked out your nose as well. There are so many things, even vitamin deficiency such as B12. I got this way from deficiency and discovered I was gluten intolerant. Although all my problems actually commenced with an IUD and rolled on from there. I actually had more help from a naturopath than my GP. Not trying to discredit GP but just relevant to my experience as what the naturopath picked up I then asked the GP to look into and it was correct. Keep searching 💕

This sounds like vertigo, which sucks (speaking from personal experience). Mine definitely gets worse with stress and tension. I’ve been seeing a vestibular Physio and had some relief.
