Baby eating

Hello everyone,

My little one year old (17monthd) has suddenly become so hard to feed even feeding herself. She is normally such a wonderful eater never missing a meal and eating a heap. She suddenly just doesn’t seem interested. It worries me. She is still having lots of milk and water just gone off the food. she seems healthy and happy and doesn’t appear to be teething. Is this a normal thing. I don’t know what to do?

They get molars at 18months which can throw them around a bit. Her gums and mouth might be sore. Try cold food that doesn't need chewing like yoghurt and ice cream.

Their tastes and eating habits and amounts will drastically change, that’s to be expected. I don’t think they’ll go off food for no reason though. in my opinion there would be something, like teething or sore throat. As above said try cold and soft foods, frozen fruit. Or it could be just preferring to fill up on milk, especially if they are using a bottle or sippy cup.

Yes it’s normal but start cutting back on the milk also as it fills their little belly’s and they start to rely on milk. maybe just try and use it for bed time or a day nap only.

Normal. Both my brilliant eaters, would eat any and everything turned in to the fussiest eaters at that age. My son is just turning the corner and starting to eat more variety and trying new foods now at 5.
