Hi guys. I have a tax debt of around 40k. Accumulated through doing the wrong tax returns for a few years. ATO doesn’t call or harass me, they just keep my Centrelink money at end of financial year and I don’t get a tax return. Is it likely they would stop me going on a holiday overseas for a week?

Ring them and ask. I've heard of some people being stopped but not sure if that's a given. You're best off asking them before wasting your money.
No they only stop you when they can’t recover the money but seen as though it’s being paid back, you will be fine. Maybe start paying $10 a week off also. Ring them and ask if you can make arrangements to pay $5 or $10 a week. It won’t stop you though. It’s only when the debts not being reduced and you stop lodging returns and they can’t get the money.
