Where did I go wrong?

Hi sisters
I’ve recently gone back to work full time. My kids are both teenagers & one has a weekend job. We have our own business husband works full time. I also have my mother living with us & we are building a house. I’ve let my self go. Packed on 20kgs in 12 months & drink every single day.
I’m tired cranky & my kids do 0 to contribute. I canceled Christmas this year cause I couldn’t be bothered hosting.
I don’t know what I’m asking. I just feel like I’m burning the candle at both ends.
I can’t even find a damn cleaner to make my life easier.

Start working on changing one thing, just one. Don’t try and change that one thing all at once, break it into manageable steps.
Little by little claw back something.
Make the insurmountable into doable steps, once I get some momentum I start to feel better.
If you are the one that does the cooking, I’d probably start there. I’d do a batch cook so I don’t have to cook for a few nights after work, just reheat. Also means less kitchen clean up.

I think setting doable goals for just yourself shows things are achievable.

My goal is whitening my teeth. I'm booking in to see my dentist.

I have a horrible fear of things going in my mouth so getting a mouth guard for my teeth would be a personal challenge.

It'll also change my life and appearance because I don't smile. I am self conscious and I'm sure people don't really care.

Changing to full time is a really big transition. It might not seem it from part time because most things are already set up like routines and children, transport and logistics, housework etc, but actually full time is so much more demanding that you may need to rearrange things to make it work.
But it sounds like you haven’t done that and now you’re feeling the effects, looking at yourself and asking, “what the heck’s going on?”
Look at your timetable again now and make the changes you need so that your life is working for you. Start on self care -cut the alcohol intake, increase water, sort out sleep routine, have others involved in the running of the housework, cleaning and cooking, and you’ll find you have more time and feel less stressed.

Try again to find a cleaner. It shouldn’t be that difficult. Lots of agencies around.

Then make a list of everything that needs to be done to keep the house running. Put your name next to the things you are willing/able to do then sit down with your family and get them to put their names down until someone has taken responsibility for every single chore.
