I have been diagnosed with gallstones about 2 years ago but things have progressed to the point that I’m having gall bladder attacks every single day. I haven’t slept properly in weeks. I’m so tired and can’t keep living like this.
I’m on the wait list for surgery but still have a while to go and on top of that as a full time single working parent I have no idea how I’d even go in.
Any advice? I can deal with the pain, it’s the lack of sleep that’s destroying me.

I have a different experience.
I didn't know I had them.
I went to ER.
They operated the next day.
Can you do the same?
I don't know how you are handling the pain, it was so intense.
I couldn't keep anything down, are you vomiting?
They took out stones and gall bladder, was only in hospital 4 days from presenting to ER.
I couldn't lift for 6 weeks, thankfully my child is a teen so could do any heavy lifting.
Yep! I dealt with them for years till about a year ago.
Every time you have an attack, go to the emergency ward. They started seeing me as soon I walked in the door and within a couple of months I had them removed (moved up the list super quick)
your liver function is probably bad, which is what happened to me.
you need to present to the ER and they will asses you and speed you through the surgery. A hospital social worker can help organise care for your kids
Go to ER, they organise it quick.
Make up a bottle of half apple cider vinegar and half apple juice, take a sip when you have an attack.
I lived on this leading up to my surgery, absolute miracle worker
This is no way to live. Please go to hospital. Have you got any relatives or friends that could help with kids?
I felt pain free about 2 weeks after, I just had to wait a bit longer to lift my 2 year old. I was a bit fatigued for about 4 weeks though
I have only had 2 big attacks. First one in October 2021, went to GP. Sounds like Gallbladder, we can't do anything here is a referral for an ultrasound. Next day it was worse so I went to the Emergency department. I was asked why I didn't go back to the GP, I told her they wouldn't do anything yesterday and she gave me a knowing look.
It all settled down with endone, do they let me go home. I then had a another attack in September 2022. It was about a week til I could get in to the GP and then sent me straight to ED. I had an ultrasound and I has stones in my bile duct. They got me in for emergency surgery the next day.
I felt so much better as soon as my gallbladder was removed. I now realise I had continuous background pain but just lived with it, not realising it was caused by my gallbladder.
Going to E.R doesn’t mean necessarily quick. Depends on the situation. I was very similar to you, 3 x ER visits and waited 7 months. I’m also an E.R nurse manager. It’s sucks, nothing relieved mine. But on the positive, I was fine within a couple of days of surgery.
