Rental help

Does anyone have any tips on getting a rental. I know the situation is horrible at the moment. I just need something to help. I have a good job, I’ve been in my current house for years, never had a breech. Is very depressing

Write out a nice email with your application explain your situation and attach a nice photo of you and your family. Explain why you are moving from your current home.

I have a rental and always like receiving emails with a bit about yourself. Job, rental history etc.

Most landlords will take the good income earners without kids first.

I have always chosen based on rent paid on time everytime and genuine references. Kids aren’t a problem and I have always chosen families first , to make sure they have a roof over their head. I know how hard it is.

I won’t select anyone who has missed rent payments or has previous property damage.

Keep trying and add that email every application. Also best to get friendly with a real estate. Keep going in so they know who you are.

This is such a sad time. I'm of no help other than to go to the inspections dressed like you're going for a job interview. Clean your car. If its shabby on the outside leave it out of view up the street and walk. Sounds weird but you're getting judged during that inspection. If you're single consider getting someone to go co applicant with you.

We are now in our own home but this housing crisis leaving families on the street is just disgusting. Housing is a human right and I really do believe that a massive overhaul needs to happen before Australia is breaking that human right. People who invest in housing should have strict legislation to follow and to change the mindset that its a business. People who aren't happy with that could sell which will open up the market and allow it be more affordable. There should also be a limit on how many investment properties people can own, one per person is plenty.
