I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions on great books I can read for self improvement.
I have a history of sexual trauma from my teen years and shut it out for a long time blaming myself.
As a Mum I thought it was time to go to therapy which I did for quite a few years.
I’m now at the stage where I need to completely move on and love myself again.
I have gained so much weight over the years and beat myself up over it daily.
Now is my time to get on top of my health, and lose the weight and be proud of who I am.
I just feel a bit stuck and can’t get out of the slump.
So any suggestions on great reads or even podcasts would be appreciated.
Thank you kindly.

Don't you discuss this in therapy? I don't think there's a magic book that will fix your issues.
How goddamn rude. This person is asking for suggestions after going to therapy.
Wonder how’d you cope if one of your kids was sexually abused??????
I would suggest they continue therapy, rather than looking for a simple solution to their complex problems, that isn't going to work.
If she stopped therapy, she should be ready for the next chapter of life and be at peace with herself.
If a professional can't get her there, I don't see how a self help book or a bunch of unqualified strangers can.
Rut=I clearly still hate myself and need more therapy to unpack that. I syltill value myself based on a number on a scale, which is incredibly unhealthy.
Wow, how incredibly helpful of you.
You must think yourself as a martyr! 😂
It's just commonsense.
The op clearly needs more than self help books and I truly hope she doesn't have an ED, because she's in dangerous territory....sometimes you need to read between the lines.
