Scrappy day

I don't know. I just feel like venting and this seems like a great outlet.
At work today, a middle aged woman come in, all loud and oh so important. She pulled several items of clothing from racks. Clothing up high, instead of asking for help, she just yanked at, snapping the little strings that help hold clothes to the hanger and some hangers aswell. She walked around the store for 15 minuted in our shoes because they were comfy. She demanded I look up inventory to check our stock even though I told her a dozen times that what we have is what's on the floor, that we don't carry overs. She just tossed clothing where ever as she tried things on. leaving hangers all over the place. During this time, her hubby seemed to have had enough, so he left, clearly over her precious behaviour. In the end, she dropped about $400 of stock on the counter, and said she'd be right back. An hour later she come back, only to buy a $10 accessory. It really pissed me off. It's Like she went to all that effort just to be a bitch about it. Make me wait on her every whim just because she could, while I had genuine customers who wanted to actually buy things.
Don't do this to staff ppl.

Oh god, hard relate haha.

I’ve been a manager in a retail space for a long time so I have seen the absolute epitome of entitled and moronic behaviour! Most of the time it’s water off a ducks back because I know it’s just some sad sack on a power trip but one time it really got to me…

I’ll set the scene - It’s 10 minutes before close on the first day of a massive sale so I’m completely spent. I’m the only staff member in store and I’m helping a really lovely and patient customer.
Big, loud family of about 8 women and a couple of kids comes in. I am pretty good at multitasking with customers so I give them a friendly greeting and let them know I’ll be available to help them in a moment, they plain ignore me so I continue with my other customer. The little children who came in with this family were running through my store, knocking things off displays, going behind the counter and going through drawers and playing with the computer/registers, peeking under curtains in the fitting room.
I leave my customer and kindly tell the children they need to stop and go back over to their family. I get a filthy look but one member of the family does take the children out of the store and another asks about the sale so I take them to the sale section and explain the prices are as marked (ie, they’re stickered and you can see the original price). I also advise them that we are about to close for the day, all the other surrounding stores had already closed as well so it’s not like it wasn’t apparent what time of day it was lol.
My first customer is ready to check out at this point and it’s now only a minute or 2 before I need to close the doors.
I’m mid transaction, trying to concentrate on what I’m scanning because I’m putting through a lot of items and I’m trying to hurry so I can close in time - this family now decides they need help so they keep shoving full price items from an entirely different section of the store directly into my cornea demanding discounts.
I politely redirect them back to the sale section multiple times after explaining that I can’t discount full price product even if I wanted to and I also let them know they need to wait their turn as I am serving someone else.

I finish with my first customer and she leaves understandably annoyed by the continuous interruption and now it’s about 5 minutes after close.

I now approach this family, as I get closer I can see that they’ve rummaged through the sale section so badly - there’s about 20 things on the floor, broken hangers, tags pulled, full price stock just shoved in carelessly.

I’m less than polite at this stage and I just bluntly tell them we’re closing and they need to leave.
They do leave without a fuss but I can plainly tell they’re talking shit about me in another language, I also faintly hear the word “racist” get muttered as well.

That tipped me over the edge, I closed the doors and went and cried in the back room out of sheer frustration.

I found most of the time, it's middle aged woman. Theu act so entitled. Like the world owes them everything. What made yesterday worse, is I was called in last minute as ppl didn't show up to work. I'm currently sick, and had replaced no shows 5 times last week. I was all on my own in a fair sized store. I had another woman come in just befor close who hit the $5 wrack. She grabbed about 15items.. she tried to pay with several cards that all declined due to pins. Then she just casually walked out. I ended up calling police because I don't think she owned a single card.
