Hi ladies,
Was just after some suggestions ...
I've been asked to fill in as a bridesmaid in a little over a week and am really excited at the prospect. I'm wondering what the etiquette is - the original bridesmaid is now unable to attend for health reasons but I would like to 'honour' her on the day - any suggestions?
I've also asked the bride throughout the process if she needs help etc, but do I now step in and do bridesmaid stuff to help or do I leave the bridesmaid duties up to the original bridesmaids (there were two and only one can't attend)? I don't want to step on any toes, but also don't want to be 'neglectful'!? Is it ok to contact the bridesmaid that is still a bridesmaid to see if she needs help with anything?
Also, I'd love to get the bride a mini hamper for the day (think a bridal version of the 'mistake' kits you see with a eraser for past mistakes etc). So far all I've got is a hankie, panadol and band aids - I want it to be a cute but thoughtful gift.
Thanks,
Xx

I would think as its only a week a way you wouldn't be expected to do much. Most stuff should be done by now. You sound like such a thoughtful person though. I'm sure the bride, sick bridesmaid etc would appreciate you checking in to see what you can do. I think just generally fussing over the bride! Some brides seem to expect an awful lot and others understand that bridesmaids still have their own lives :) enjoy
