Defacto or not..

Okay, quick question or suggestions on what to do.

I moved out of my ex partners place a while back and a few months after found out I was pregnant. We kept in touch but never got back together since then I've had the baby and am thinking about moving in to try get things to work. However because I receive Centrelink do we declare each other as defacto - we have lived together before so I'm worried they will jump to that conclusion - I will be supporting myself within the household and in a seperate bedroom for the time being. I just want our baby to have more time with his dad. Question is I guess will we be classed as defacto.

There is such a thing as "Separated, living under one roof". It's a huge form to fill out to explain your relationship. If you plan to co-parent but not be together then that might be the go. However, if you plan to try to make the relationship work then it might be a bit much of a grey area and you'd be better off saying you're defacto and then his income will impact yours. If that's not going to work then I suggest that you try to make it work without him moving in, for now.
