Free/cheap Gold Coast activities?

Hi all,
We are going on a family holiday in less than 2 weeks time (2A, DD11 & DS1) and have had some unexpected expenses come up that we need to save for. Our accom is paid in full and non refundable so we can still go, but we were planning to do exxy touristy things such as a theme park, but now we can't. Our daughter is quite disappointed so we are seeking any fun cheap/free ideas for things to do on the Gold Coast please? We are staying 1 block away from Cavil. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Elephant rock, Burleigh waters has a small bush walking track up a small mountain, mount Tamborine is cool, there are a few water falls can't remember the names of them though. Maybe jump on the goldcoast website :)

Have a look at the MyGC website, they might give you some ideas.
Alternatively, if you go into Cavill Mall there are people advertising theme park tickets for $20. The condition is that you go to a timeshare holiday seminar for 1.5hrs and then you get the tickets (no purchase required). Not ideal but at least you can still go for a fraction of the cost.
Just across the Southport bridge there are the Rockpools which are lovely for kids of all ages and free.
There are plenty of bush walking options and picnic spots you could go to.
Enjoy the beach, the walkways, water parks and playgrounds spread across the coast.
Broadbeach bowls club (not far from where you will be staying) has barefoot bowls for the whole family which is a cheap and fun activity to involve you all.
Hope that helps! Have a great holiday enjoying each others company.
