I've just started a small jewellery making business from home for some extra income. I've started an etsy business page and a Facebook page for my business, but I'd really like to approach some stores to have them sell my products on my behalf. The problem is I don't know where to start. How do you approach businesses to get them to sell your product? How much of a 'cut' of the profits should they get? I have no idea where to start!
I'd also love ideas on promoting my Facebook and etsy pages.
How do I promote my jewellery making business and get stores to sell on my behalf?

A lot of stores will take items on consignment. Especially arty gift stores/gallery type stores.
I'm not sure on the percentage they take but they would have a standard agreement. Also if your local council has a gallery/store they have these kind if arrangements too.
As above said....you do this by spending a few days with a big bag of samples and a crate in the car ready to stock the store up....and any business cards display paraphernalia you may need (some stores insist you provide your own display and assurance that you can keep up supply....)
And literally door knock...you may find you need to do return trips because smaller stored the manager/owner isnt always there but the staff will tell you when to catch them.
Larger stores and chains have annual buyers meetings they will give you the details to attend if you contact their main office. If you want to go that route be sure you can handle supply they will want all the details of how you intend to manage demand.
Good luck.
