Moving

Hey mummas,
Myself and my family (2 year old son and partner) currently live in an area neither of us are happy about (high drug use low socioeconomic etc). We are planning to move and based on location and the type of area it is we like the look of Wauchope which is half an hour west of Port Macquarie. I was wondering if anyone who has lived there or knows the area has anything we should know.
Also how do you go about a big move with getting a house and job? I am not working but studying (plan to move when I have finished studying so I can just get a job there) I will have a diploma of community services and my partner doesn't have a job that he can transfer. I guess my question is how do people move a long distance without being either without a house or without a job?
We have a fantastic rental history, should we just move to the cheapest place avaliable and struggle on centerlink untill we get jobs? I just have no idea.

I live in this area, and the biggest thing I believe you should know is that jobs here are VERY hard to come by. Other than that: lovely area.

I live in Port Macquarie & there is an increasing amount of drug use around here and Wauchope too. Also as someone else pointed out it is very hard to get work in the area. I'll just add that the price of buying and renting property is ridiculous around here.
