Pregnacy After A Loss

Hi Ladies Im looking for people who have been in a similar situation and how things worked out for you.
Hubby and I suffered a miscarriage a few years ago and to say it left us devistated would be putting it mildly. We are currently 36 weeks along and we both admitted a few weeks ago we have not enjoyed this pregnacy like we feel we should. We both have said we have had the proverbial brick wall up incase something went wrong again. We had a really good talk about it and said we needed to make an effort to break it down. Talking again tonight we both realised we havent taken the wall down at all and we are both still fearful something could go wrong. Hubby even said tonight when bub is born and we realise everything is ok it will be a massive sigh of relief. I really hope that once bub is inmour arms we will feel better but I am worried that we wont feel any better and my biggest fear is getting Pnd.
Has anyone been in the a similar situation?Did all your worries disappear as soon as your bub was born? Did you get Pnd?

Not in your situation but I was concerned about getting pnd because had it first time for years. I talked to my midwife, she flagged me, when I felt it getting a little unbalanced ( I'd say youre there) I talked to the councillor and saw a psychologist before my baby was born. I'm on the radar and everyone's checked in on me and I have resources ready but I haven't needed them. It's best to be prepared though and don't wait until you're really struggling. I hope your fears all disappear soon and you enjoy your baby.

First of all im sorry for your loss and congratulation.

Last June i suffered a miscarriage at 14 weeks, it was undeniable heart breaking as they always are.

Early August I found out I was pregnant again, my whole pregnancy I was on edge as was my SO, after the 20 week scan we both relaxed a little but was still a long road to feeling like everything was going to be okay this time.

It's hard it really is and the worry that something could go wrong really eats at you.

But today I sit here writing this as I have a snuggle with mr.4 and mr.2 months I couldn't be happier, my heart is full and my life is happy.

I still worry every day something could happen to my children but that's what you do as a parent, to this day I still watch both ky children breath in there sleep and think how lucky I am.

Things will get better, I can't tell you if you'll suffer pnd I know I don't tho, but you will still be on edge about your baby just a different edge one that holding them in your arms or just watching their chest move up and down as they sleep will ease.

Good luck mumma you can do this, things do get better.

oh my love, it will get better. once that little person is safe in your arms all the real worrying will begin! it is understandable to feel the way you do, and to be honest, the baby will not fill that little whole in your heart that your miscarriage left, but they will bring with them an amazing light and love and happiness that will help ease the pain. Just take care of yourself. but in saying that, going through what you have will not guarantee you have pnd, but it does also not mean you will be ammune to it. having a baby is hard especially the first few weeks. be easy on yourself and your partner and make sure you are honest about how you are feeling and seek help if necessary. all the best, from a mum of a beautiful 2 yr old darling carrying three little holes in her heart xo
