What is your job/profession/career? Is it your passion? Or does it just pay the bills? How did you get into it and did you have to do any courses? And most importantly do you enjoy it? Do you think your paid adequately? Need some career inspiration!!

I have completed a bachelor's degree in information systems, and countless other relevant courses mostly technical in my 12yrs or so in IT.
I first worked on a Service Desk and Desktop Support then began working as a System Administrator. All of those roles were fabulous but very challenging and I was on call also. The pay was very good 6 figures) but I earned every cent!!
After returning from maternity leave for my first child I maintained part time work until my position was made redundant.
Since then I have been doing Admin functions including technical documentation for an IT department. I still get to use all my technical skills without the challenge which I love. The money is terrible but I work to keep my brain active and get me out of the house... I am definitely underpaid for what I do and the skills I have brought to the position. I am leaving soon and my boss and colleagues all know that they will never get someone with my skills in the position again.
I would just like to comment about pay generally though. While you will be paid a wage or hourly rate there are other factors that I include in my calculation of what my pay rate actually is, proximity to home, flexible and understanding managers and other benefits such as salary sacrifice and employee discounts.
I'm a cleaner at a shopping center. I'm a mum of 3 and 20wks pregnant with number 4. My job pays well that's the only thing keeping me. I leave home at 6:30am and get home at 4:30pm. Long days away from my kids. I hate my job I leave everyday feeling degraded sad n just shit. I feel stuck. I've love reading this post about other mothers, well done to the ones doing what u love.
I'm a midwife. I originally did a psychology degree, but knew it wasn't my passion by the end of the second year of uni. But finished it anyway. Then after a few years of fluffing around working in various odd jobs and travelling, I decided to do a Bachelor of Nursing, then later a Master of Midwifery. Best thing I ever did, I love it. I currently work casually for over $50/h base rate plus shift penalties. I don't need childcare because I can work out of business hours (usually 3 shifts per week) and leave kids at home with Daddy.
I work in aged care. 25 hours a week/$600. Took 6 months to do my cert 3 in aged care
