Today my Miss 14 came home from school quite upset that a person she likes has a girlfriend. I was sympathetic saying the usual plenty of other guys out there etc. Then she says no Mum, this person is another girl... My reply was "well ok, plenty of other girls out there. However I'd much prefer if you focussed on school work over girlfriends".
She was happy with that and wandered off. Did I react the right way? Should I have made just a little bit of a deal about it? Because I'm really not at all fussed about the gender of the person she chooses to be with. As long as that person is decent and treats her with respect then I'm happy.
