Unexpected situation

After year of chemo I was told that I cannot have children. I had all the signs of menopause. But recently I was having bad pains then bleeding. I went to the hospital only to be told that I was 19 weeks with twins. I didn't even look pregnant. When I explained my situation the hospital staff said they must be miracle babies. But sadly not long after I have lost the babies and have had to have them surgically removed. My partner at first was shocked to hear the news but has since been supportive especially with the sudden loss. I know the genders and feel so sad but then have had people saying things like you already have a child, at least you have that. I am feeling so many emotions all at once.

That's very sad, I'm so sorry you had to go through that

Oh that must have been so confusing and upsetting for your. I'm very sorry for your losses. I have to admit I've been guilty of saying the stupidest things when trying to comfort someone. It's very hard to know what to say (or don't say) when someone has gone through a difficult time.
